If you have trouble walking long distances, you can request assistance from your airline. You must do so before your day of travel though. This gives the airline plenty of time to prepare for your needs.

Talk to your fellow travelers
As we travel around, we interact with a lot of people. Never hesitate to say hello to your fellow travelers. They may be going to the same hotel as you are and perhaps you can share a taxi. Perhaps they've been to your destination before and can give you a tip on the local customs.
